Land Acquisition

We can assist you with selection of a home site appropriate to your needs.  We arrange for soil testing, survey work, and prepare a preliminary site development plan to ensure your home can be built on a particular site and provide you with an accurate estimate of site costs before you purchase the property.

Design/Build

Design/build is an integrated approach that enables a client to work with one team from design of their home through construction and warranty service.   A unique feature of our design/build process is that your budget is a design input—not an uncontrolled output— of the design process.  This contrasts with the more traditional approach where an architect designs a home based on the client’s wishes without a clear balance between lifestyle needs and budget. 

When you choose to work with us, you benefit from the combined experience of a team that includes an architect and construction professionals working together to meet your objectives.    

We have experience designing and building a variety of architectural styles from traditional to contemporary.  We can collaborate with you to customize one of our proprietary plans, to modify a plan you’ve purchased from a plan service or to produce a unique custom design starting with a clean sheet of paper.

We offer you the choice of building your home on a fixed-contract price or construction management fee basis.

Construction Management

We also offer construction management services.  If you choose to hire us as construction managers, we’ll provide supervision and all administration associated with the construction of your home from plans we produce or plans you provide.  You pay the actual cost of all materials and labor required to construct your home plus a management fee.  Our management fees depend on the scope of the project and the resources we are required to provide.

Consulting Services

We can collaborate with your architect or residential designer to provide construction cost estimating, energy-efficient design and value engineering expertise for a home to be built in our area. 

Plans

Our proprietary plans are available for purchase if you are building a home outside a 50 mile radius of Williamsburg, Virginia.
